Professor Collado is the only kenpoist to win
all the Major Kenpo International Competitions world wide.

Prof. Collado is a 6th Degree Black Belt in Kenpo Karate. Prof. Collado received his 4th Degree in 1993 from Mr. Yosh Furuya,  Mr. Frank Trejo and Mr. Roger Meadows.  Mr. Collado is considered one of Kenpo Karate's  top Kenpo Forms Practitioners and competitors.  Prof. Collado has earned this respect due to his many and impressive accomplishments as a Kenpo Karate competitor and instructor in the USA and in Europe.

Prof. Collado began  his training 38 years ago at the age of 13.  He received  his 1st Degree Black Belt in Albuquerqure, New Mexico in the Traco/Tracy Kenpo System.  After Moving to Los Angeles , Prof. Collado met up with one of Ed Parker's Black Belts  who intern introduced him to Grand Master Ed Parker and into the  Parker circles.  Prof. Collado begin training directly under  Ed Parker's 1st Generation and  9th Degree Black Belt  Mr. Yosh "Jimmy" Furuya. Mr. Collado began from the very begining and learned the Ed Parker Kenpo Karate System from Mr. Furuya. This was quite difficult having earned a Black Belt in the Tracy System first and having to re-learn the Parker system.

Over the course of  the next 12 years Mr. Collado trained intensively under Mr. Yosh Furuya.  This  included  training  with the "Old Timers" of the Ed Parker's Pasadena Studio .  Each Friday evening at 8:00 PM 13-20 Black Belts gathered in Pasadena area for  the legendary "Friday Night" class. Many of the Black Belts in attendance  were of 1st generation status.  Prof. Collado  has  also had  the honor and privilege of training privately with Mr. Frank Trejo over the past 20years at his home at "Camp Trejo" located Pasadena.  Other Kenpo Instructors Prof. Collado has trained with directly include SGM Frank Trejo, Mr. Steve Aaron, Mr. Steve Herring,  Mr. Phil Conti ,  Mr. Roger Meadows, Mr. Dave Thompson, Mr. Paul Dye and Mr. Huk Planas. Prof. Collado continues to attend seminars and take private lessons from some of Kenpo's Top Instructors.

In 2003 Mr. Collado teamed up with  Guru Steve Tarani to form the Kenpo Karambit Association. The combination of the ancient blade and the principles and concepts of Ed Parkers Kenpo Karate. A lethal mix.

In 1994 Mr. Collado opened a Kenpo Studio in Glendora Ca. with his Instructor Mr. Yoshio Furuya.

Prof. Collado Currently teaches at Pacific Arts Kenpo in Buena Park, Ca and in Glendora, CA weekly.

Mr. Collado has been a National Caliber athlete all of his life and continues to compete Internationally today.  Mr. Collado has an extensive background in Exercise Physiology and Sports medicine. Mr. Collado is a Registered Sport Medicine Therapist and Certified Athletic Trainer.

 Physical Therapy and Athletic Training.  These skills only add  to the understanding of , and applications of motion and anatomy and physiology .  Mr. Collado has the knowledge to heal the injured, an important and valuable asset to his Kenpo Karate teaching and training.  Mr. Collado has made four trips to Europe each year to compete in and teach  and learn Kenpo Karate.

In addition to his Kenpo Studies Mr. Collado has been a student of the Chinese Art of
Chin -na (The Art of seize and control) for the past 22 years.
Mr. Collado has studied the art of
Kubudo (The Art of  Okinawan Bo/Staff Fighting)
under the direction of Ryobu-kai Master
Kiyoshi Yamazaki
in Anahiem CA.
 
 
Mr. Collado is a Registered Sport Medicine Therapist, Certified Athletic Trainer and Assistant Physical Therapist in Glendora California. Mr. Collado was the Head Trainer for the Anaheim Storm Professional Team in 2005 and will be worked with the Portland Lumberjax in the 2006-07 season.
