Mr. Angelo B. Collado

8 time International Champion -  5 time European Champion
Mr. Collado is the only Kenpoist to win all the major International Competitions worldwide during his  competition career.

Mr. Collado recieved his 5th Degree from SGM Frank Trejo in 2003, Mr. Collado received his 4th Degree in 1993 from Mr. Yosh Furuya,  Mr. Frank Trejo and Mr. Roger Meadows.  Mr. Collado is considered one of Kenpo Karate's  top Kenpo Forms Practitioners and Competitors.   Mr. Collado has earned this respect due to his many and impressive accomplishments as a Kenpo Karate competitor and instructor in the USA and in Europe.

Mr. Collado began  his training 33 years ago at the age of 13.  He received  his 1st Degree Black Belt in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the Traco/Tracy Kenpo System.  After Moving to Los Angeles , Mr. Collado met up with one of Ed Parker's Black Belts  who intern introduced him to Grand Master Ed Parker and into the Parker circles.  Mr. Collado began training directly under  Ed Parker's 1st Generation and  8th Degree Black Belt  Mr. Yosh "Jimmy" Furuya. Mr. Collado began from the very begining and learned the Ed Parker Kenpo Karate System from Mr. Furuya directly. This was quite difficult having earned a Black Belt in the Tracy System first and having to re-learn the Parker system.

Over the course of  the next 7 years Mr. Collado trained intensively under Mr. Yosh Furuya .  This  included  training  with the "Old Timers" of the Ed Parker's Pasadena Studio .  Each Friday evening at 8:00 PM 13-20 Black Belts gathered in Pasadena area for  the legendary "Friday Night" class. Many of the Black Belts in attendance  were of 1st generation status.  Mr. Collado  has  also had  the honor and privilege of training privately with Mr. Frank Trejo at his home in Pasadena over the past 12 years.  Other Kenpo Instructors Mr. Collado has trained with directly include SGM Frank Trejo, Mr. Steve Aaron, Sifu Steve Herring,  Mr. Phil Conti ,  Mr. Roger Meadows, Mr. Dave Thompson, Mr. Paul Dye and Mr. Huk Planas. Mr. Collado continues to attend seminars and take private lessons from some of Kenpo's Top Instructors.

Learning never stops!!

In 2003 Mr. Collado teamed up with  Guru Steve Tarani to form the Kenpo Karambit Association. The combination of the ancient blade and the principles and concepts of Ed Parkers Kenpo Karate. A lethal mix.  Mr. Collado's intent was not to change , better or bastardize the art of kenpo, but to grow a mew branch onto the kenpo tree. A new avenue to unilize an ancient blade and incorprate Ed Parker's kenpo principles and concepts. Together they unite and form the Kenpo Karambit System.

In 1994 Mr. Collado opened a Kenpo Studio in Glendora Ca. with his Instructor Mr. Yoshio Furuya.

Mr. Collado has been an athlete all of his life and continues to compete Internationally today.  Mr. Collado has an extensive background in Exercise Physiology, Sports Medicine, Physical Therapy and Athletic Training.  These skills only add  to the understanding of , and applications of motion and anatomy and physiology .  Mr. Collado has the knowledge to heal the injured working as a Registered Sports Medicine Therapist and Certified Athletic trainer at the High School, College and Professional levels. an important and valuable asset to his Kenpo Karate teaching and training.  Mr. Collado has made four trips to Europe each year to compete in and teach and learn Kenpo Karate.
